Avion

Launched in 2009, Avion is a relatively new brand of tequila that has already developed quite a following. It was founded in Jalisco, Mexico, and gained global recognition after appearing in the HBO series, Entourage. 

The town where Avion is based, Jesús María, is located 7,000ft above sea level, which is the perfect altitude for growing the blue agave that goes into their tequila. 

Avion produces Reposado, Silver and Añejo varieties. The Reposado is the brand’s entry-level bottling and is distilled in small batches before being matured in ex-bourbon barrels for six months. The Añejo is a richer and more flavourful take on this, having been aged for two years. 

All of their releases are known for having a slightly floral and herbal character, with sweet and spicy undertones.
