Belmont Farm

Belmont Farm is an American whiskey distillery in Virginia. Whiskey has been produced on the site for more than 400 years, but has only been available commercially since 1988. It’s owned by Chuck and Jeanette Miller, who grow all of the ingredients on their 195-acre farm.

Considered the first craft whiskey distillery in the US, Belmont Farm uses a copper pot still that dates back to 1933. This still is the key to the distillery’s character, which helps produce a fresh and vibrant spirit. They use a combination of cornmeal and malt, and new charred oak barrels.

Their principal range is the Kopper Kettle line of whiskies. The first release in this series was the Virginia Whiskey, which starts as a three grain whisky that’s soaked in white oak and apple wood, before spending four years in new oak barrels. The range also offers a straight bourbon and American single malt.

For something a little different, try the Apple Whiskey, which brings together the Virginia release, corn whiskey and real apple juice to create a crisp autumnal flavour.
