Cu Bocan

Here we have a range of lightly peated single malts from the Tomatin distillery in the Highlands. This is an innovative brand that experiments with different cask finishes and is distilled in limited batches every winter. It was launched in 2013 as a means to distinguish it from Tomatin’s classically non-peaty style.

Cu Bocan takes its name from a ghost hound that is said to haunt the local village. An image of the beast previously adorned the packaging before a sleeker look was introduced in 2019.

The range is known for its balance of sweet and smokey flavours. The flagship expression, the Cu Bocan Signature, uses ex-bourbon, sherry and virgin oak casks to create a rich and fruity malt that’s a great introduction to peat. If you’re looking for something more unique, their Creations Series plays around with Stout & Moscatel, Port & Cognac and Shochu.
