First created in 1874 by New Orleans bartender Martin Wilkes Heron, Southern Comfort blends classic whisky notes with natural fruit and spices for a truly unique flavour. While the original recipe has a slightly lower ABV than other spirits at 35%, Southern Comfort Black and Southern Comfort 100 Proof are made with stronger recipes to reach 40% and 50% ABV respectively.

Becoming a key component of many cocktails and mixed drinks over the decades, this whisky liqueur has been a firm favourite since its creation. Mix Southern Comfort original with sloe gin, orange juice, and Disaronno amaretto to make the iconic Alabama Slammer cocktail.
