Torabhaig

Torabhaig is a relatively new whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye. Starting its operations in 2017, it’s based in a restored 19th century farmhouse and is only the second distillery ever on the island to be given a licence to distill single malt whisky. It’s located close to the village of Teangue and sources water from the nearby burns of Allt Breacach and Allt Gleann. Torabhaig was founded by Mossburn Distillers Ltd.

Though still early in its history, the distillery has already developed a signature style that’s been described as ‘well-tempered peat.’ This profile can already be seen in their first three expressions, which have been released as part of the Legacy Series. 

The first product launched was the Torabhaig Single Malt – 2017, but this was soon followed by the Allt Gleann and Allt Gleann Batch Strength.
