Produced by distilling wine, brandy actually hails from grapes (or sometimes, in the case of Calvados brandy, other fruits like pear or apple). Later blended and aged in oak barrels, this spirit can be distinguished by its distinct caramel flavour and a strength ranging from 35% to 60% ABV.
