Nose

Sherry soaked raisin, toffee and sultana pudding, with blackberry preserve, antique leather and cedar cigar box.

Palate

Stewed plum, apricot purée and sultana cake with orange caramel brittle, treacle and clove.

A Word About GlenDronach

GlenDronach is a Highland whisky distillery in Aberdeenshire. It was founded in 1826 by James Allardice and has a turbulent history that includes a fire, different owners and numerous periods of inactivity. It was bought by The BenRiach in 2008, which was subsequently acquired by Brown-Foreman (of Jack Daniel’s).

The distillery is known for its sherry-forward style. Using Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks for full maturation or finishing, GlenDronach single malts are fruity, dark in colour and have a full-bodied character.

The core range offers aged expressions, such as the 12, 15 and 18 year olds, as well as cask strength releases. There’s also a peated bottling, which is a diversion from the brand’s usual style.
