Translated as ‘Swedish smoke’, Svensk Rök is a peated whiskey from the ever-innovative Mackmyra Distillery. They use Swedish peat and juniper branches during the drying process, which helps give the dram its unique smokey character. Maturation takes place in bourbon and sherry casks, adding another layer of complexity. It’s super rich and full of peat, with further notes of vanilla and oak spice. A really interesting release.
