The 19th release in this ever popular series.
This collaboration began with a chance meeting at a luncheon to celebrate the liberation of Paris in 1944 between Mr Churchill & Odette Pol-Roger. With the friendship between the Churchill and Roger families still going strong to this day after 80 years, Mr Churchill been a particular fan of Pol Roger Champagne; that lasted up until his death in 1965.
He even named one of his racehorses after the Champagne house that rode to victory at Kempton in 1953.
The 2012 vintage uses a expertly blended recipe of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grape- but the exact blend is a closely guarded secret. However a mixture of climate conditions has resulted in a harvest of grapes noted for their exceptional health & taste. Every vintage release is noted for the things that Churchill found best in Champagne- Robustness, full bodied and a certain degree of maturity.
