Glencadam

Glencadam is a Highland distillery located in the town of Brechin, just half a mile from the River Esk. Founded by George Cooper in 1825, it is one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries and has a long history of producing excellent single malt whisky.

Now owned by Angus Dundee Distillers, Glencadam has a distinctively light and fruity character. They use stills with unique lyne arms that are positioned vertically at an angle of 15 degrees, and this is said to contribute to the spirit’s delicate profile.

Glencadam has an extensive range of whiskies that are bottled at 46%, non-chill filtered, and matured in American oak. They also experiment with different cask finishes, including the 15 Year Old Reserva de Porto Branco, which uses white port casks.

This is an underrated distillery that’s starting to get the attention it deserves.
