Lochlea

Lochlea is a family-owned distillery in Ayrshire, Scotland. The site has a long history as a working farm, before construction began in 2017 to convert parts of it into a distillery. Growing their own barley and using a local water source, they take a field-to-bottle approach, giving their spirit a unique character.

Though a Lowland whisky, this has distinct flavours of orchard fruit, biscuit and nuts. This is helped by the slow fermentation process, which promotes long contact with the copper stills. Bourbon and sherry casks are predominantly used for maturation. 

Lochlea launched its first whisky in 2022. Our Barley is the only core expression in the range, but this has been joined by a number of limited edition releases. This covers a seasonally inspired series, which includes the Harvest and Ploughing Editions
