This extraordinary single malt is the second release in The Tales of The Macallan series, a testament to the distillery’s rich heritage. Distilled in 1949, it spent over seven decades maturing to perfection before whisky maker Euan Kennedy carefully selected a single cask for bottling in 2022. Released in 2024 to commemorate The Macallan’s bicentenary, this rare expression is limited to just 344 bottles. Each is elegantly presented in a stunning Lalique crystal decanter, housed within a beautifully hand-bound book adorned with illustrations by the esteemed British artist Andrew Davidson.

Tasting Notes

Nose

An opulent medley of ripe forest fruits intertwined with sweet, aromatic woodsmoke. Layers of antique oak, nutmeg, and cinnamon emerge, complemented by delicate vanilla pods, a whisper of herbal intrigue, and the rich depth of treacle.

Palate

Decadent and full-bodied, revealing luscious black cherries and indulgent plum jam, seamlessly woven with notes of dark chocolate orange. Almond and custard pastry add a creamy elegance, while ginger sponge and subtle clove spice lend warmth. Gentle woodsmoke and the earthiness of tea leaves provide a refined complexity.
