The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask is a well-balanced and complex single malt Scotch whisky that has been aged for a minimum of 12 years in two different types of oak casks. The first cask is made from sherry seasoned American oak, while the second cask is made from sherry seasoned European oak. The use of two different types of oak casks gives this whisky its distinctive flavour profile. American oak imparts sweet and creamy vanilla flavours, while the European oak casks add spicy and fruit notes. It is bottled at 40% ABV and is non-chill filtered.

You buy this because of its distinct flavour. It’s drier rather than sweet though nice throughout the sip.
I’m not going to open it until Scotland win the World Cup 😉
