Launched back in 2016, the Spey Trutina is a Speyside single malt that’s been matured in ex-bourbon casks. Trutina is the Latin word for ‘balance’, which is apt for this expression that perfectly marries flavours of orchard fruit, nuts and chocolate. A crisp and refreshing dram that’s great for the summer months. Only 18,000 bottles were released.

Fruity,interesting & a lovely surprise.
I bought this whisky during a visit to Aviemore last year and I liked it that much I decided to buy another bottle online as the Lockdown prohibited me from travelling to Scotland. It’s an amazingly light coloured whisky and it’s appearance reflects it’s taste. Light, crisp and yet smooth. I also like to buy this whisky as prefer to support the smaller independent distilleries rather than the big multinationals.
