Nikka

Here we have one of the biggest names in Japanese whisky. Founded in 1934 by Masataka Taketsuru, the brand is headquartered in Tokyo and is the country’s second largest distiller. It operates from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, and also owns Ben Nevis.

Nikka produces a wide range of single malt, grain and blended whiskies. They are distilled in copper pot stills and matured in a variety of cask types – including ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and even mizunara.

Perhaps Nikka’s most well known product is Nikka from the Barrel. This flagship expression is the best selling Japanese whisky in Europe and is a blend of Coffey Grain, and spirits from Yoichi and Miyagikyo.

As well as award-winning whisky, they also produce gin and vodka.
