Presenting the acclaimed Suntory single malt from Yamazaki, Japan's pioneering whisky distillery. First released in 1992, this single malt boasts a composition where approximately 80% has been aged in sherry butts, with the remainder maturing in a combination of American and Mizunara oak casks. This exquisite blend results in a breath-taking harmony of fruity, oaky, and smoky flavours, a testament to its numerous accolades. The skilful aging process and the unique choice of casks contribute to its outstanding character, making it an award-winning marvel in the world of whisky.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Rich and complex, featuring the luxurious essence of truffles, the intense bitterness of thick marmalade, and the depth of resin. These are beautifully complemented by the fragrant mix of potpourri and the profound, heavy notes of Oloroso sherry.

Palate

A rich tapestry of bittersweet flavours, including the earthiness of heather roots, the distinct taste of cigar leaves, and the sweetness of honey and toffee apples. It's further enhanced by the exotic notes of plum wine and a sharp bite of black pepper, with a subtle hint of rancio adding to the depth.
