Ardmore

Ardmore is a Scotch whisky distillery located in the Speyside village of Kennethmont, Aberdeenshire. With a capacity of 5.1 million litres, the distillery is one of the largest in Scotland. Despite this, most of the production is reserved for blends, although a named bottling was officially released in 2007 – over a century after the distillery was first opened.

The distillery was built in 1898 by Adam Teacher, who planned to use it in Teachers blended whisky; something which it still does today. In 2005, Ardmore was purchased by Beam Suntory, and shortly after, the Ardmore Traditional Cask was launched. This has since been replace by Ardmore Legacy. The non-peated Ardlair is released for just a short portion of the year.

Ardmore is also popular with independent bottlers, meaning you can pick up some interesting releases from the likes of Murray McDavid, with the 11 Year Old Sherry Cask Matured, and Signatory, with their Ardmore 13 Year Old.
