Asbach

Founded in 1892, Asbach is a famous producer of fine German brandy, located in the Rhine Valley. The brand holds an important place in the country’s spirits heritage and is particularly popular among former British servicemen who were once stationed there. 

Brandies from Asbach are known for their smooth and fruity profile. They also have notes of vanilla, caramel and spice, which gives it similar qualities to bourbon or cognac. 

The entry-level bottling is the Asbach Uralt, a young and warming brandy that’s made up of 25 distillations. This sits alongside the 3 Year Old in the range, which has been aged in Limousin casks and has soft fruit and nutty character. Alternately, try the Privatbrand 8 Year Old, which offers more depth and spice.
