Drumshanbo

From the Shed Distillery in County Leitrim, Ireland, Drumshanbo is a brand of spirits that has helped put the village of the same name on the map. They launched their first gin in 2016 and have since added whiskey to their portfolio.

The most well known release is the Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin. This meticulously distilled spirit is made with a mix of classic and exotic botanicals, but its standout ingredient is that of gunpowder tea. A type of green tea from China, gunpowder tea adds a fresh and aromatic character. 

Drumshanbo launched their first whiskey in 2019, with their Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey. This involves a mix of malted and unmalted barley, distilled in copper pot stills, giving the whiskey a rich and full-bodied character. It was distilled in 2014 and matured in bourbon and sherry casks, resulting in a sweet and rich dram. The whiskey range also includes the Galanta, which is the first single malt to be distilled in the province of Connacht for over a century.
