Filey Bay

Here is a new brand of English whisky from the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery in Hunmanby. Founded in in 2016, it is Yorkshire’s first distillery and takes advantage of the local terroir to create unique single malts. 

They follow a ‘field to bottle’ approach, which means that all stages of the process, including the growing of the barley, happen in and around the site.

Despite the young age, Filey Bay have released an extensive range of styles and finishes. Their first official bottling was the 2019 release of the Filey Bay Flagship. This had been matured in ex-bourbon casks and is wonderfully light, creamy and full of honey. Other expressions include the Sherry Cask, Moscatel Cask and Wine Cask.
