Girvan

The Girvan Distillery was built by William Grants & Sons in 1963 as a means to contribute to blends. Based in the South Ayrshire town of the same name, Girvan produces grain whisky and has a capacity of more than 115 million litres per year. As well as whisky, Hendricks Gin is also made here.

Due to the use of Coffey stills, Girvan whisky has a distinctly light profile, which makes it perfect for blending.

Releases of Girvan are relatively few and far between, but in 2014, the first official Single Grain expressions were launched as part of the Patent Still range. This series included a number aged bottlings, as well as a proof strength offering. Independent bottlings are also popular with enthusiasts – such as this 19 year old from Signatory Vintage.
