Founded in 2012, The Glasgow Distillery Company is a relatively new distillery from Scotland’s largest city. It produces whisky, gin and rum, and was named Distillery of the Year at the 2020 Scottish Whisky Awards.
They create a Lowland whisky, in more of a Speyside style, made from three different types of new make spirit; double distilled peated, double distilled unpeated and triple distilled unpeated. These are aged in bourbon casks and American white oak barrels, before being bottled at 46% ABV.
The first limited whisky release was in 2018, which was followed by the Glasgow 1770 single malt range just a year later. This series includes a peated, and triple distilled. Limited cask strength bottlings are also available.
