Goslings

Goslings is a renowned brand of Bermudan rum that dates back over two centuries. It was founded in 1806 by James Gosling, who was originally sailing to America, but arrived on the West Indian island after a difficult journey. He stayed and started his wine and spirits business, which has remained family-owned for more than seven generations.

Their most famous expression is the Black Seal Rum. It’s made from a more than 150 year old recipe and is Bemuda’s largest export. This was initially sold straight from the barrel, but was eventually bottled, corked and sealed with black wax – hence the name. It’s often paired with ginger beer to create a Dark ‘n’ Stormy; a trademarked cocktail and Bermuda’s national drink.

As well as the famous Black Seal, Goslings produces a range of other rums. This includes the lighter Gold Seal, which is used in cocktails such as a Pina Colada; the premium Family Reserve Old Rum; and Spirited Seas, an ocean-aged expression.
