Hankey Bannister
Dating back to the mid-18th century, Hankey Bannister is a brand of blended Scotch whisky with a long history. It was founded in 1757 by Beaumont Hankey and Huge Bannister, a couple of wine and spirits merchants from London, although the first blend wasn’t created until the 1890s. It’s said that Hankey Bannister was a favourite of Winston Churchill.
Now owned by Inver House Distillers, expressions are carefully crafted by master blender, Stuart Harvey, and his team. They take some of the finest Highland malt whiskies and light Lowland grains, before ageing them in oak barrels for a minimum of three years. Some of the distilleries they use include Old Pulteney, AnCnoc and Balmenach.
The Original Hankey Bannister Blended Scotch Whisky has been enjoyed for over 250 years. It’s smooth, light and unpeated, with sweet and spicy flavours on the tongue. It’s a multi-award winner that can be had neat or in a cocktail. Alternatively, the Heritage Blend recreates a recipe from 1924-1928, and offers sweet smoke and butterscotch. If you’re looking for an age statement, the core range also includes a 12 year old expression.
