KYRO

Kyrö is a Finnish Distillery that produces a range of rye whiskies, gins and liqueurs. It was founded in 2012 by a group of friends who came up with the idea while enjoying rye whisky in a sauna. They eventually found their home in an old dairy in Isokyrö and have gone from strength to strength. 

Rye sits at the core of Kyrö’s spirits, which are distilled in a 1200 litre copper still. Their flagship product is the Napue Gin. First released in 2014, this is made in small batches using rye grain and botanicals foraged in the short Finland summers – such as sea buckthorn, meadowsweet and birch leaves. It’s received global acclaim and is a multi-award winner. 

Their first whisky release was the Kyrö Malt, made with 100% malted rye and aged in new American oak and ex-bourbon casks. This has subsequently been followed by sherried, peated and wood smoked expressions. The latter uses malt that has been alder smoked, following a popular Finnish tradition.
