La Hechicera
La Hechicera is an authentic Colombian rum. It’s owned by the Riascos family, which has been involved in rum production for generations and has deep roots in the country’s spirits industry. Spanish for ‘The Enchantress’, La Hechicera is made in the city of Barranquilla and mirrors the beauty and mystique of Columbia – especially the area on the Caribbean coast it calls home.
The team uses the Solera method for ageing. This sees older rums fractionally blended with younger ones, ensuring that each bottle is a mix of different aged spirits. The result is a well-rounded expression that contains rums aged between 12 and 21 years old. There’s also no additives, artificial flavours or colours, making for a truly genuine experience.
La Hechicera’s core bottling is the Reserva Familiar; a blend of rums that’s been matured in white oak. It’s smooth and silky, with heady notes of chocolate, coffee and sweet fruits. The brand also offers an experimental range. The second release has been infused with sun-dried banana, adding a tropical twist to their already delicious rum.
