Ragtime

Ragtime is a brand of rye whiskey from the New York Distilling Company. The Brooklyn-based distillery, which also produces gin, launched Ragtime Rye in 2015, following the release and success of Mister Katzs American Classic Rock & Rye. The brand is inspired by New York’s jazz scene.

The flagship bottling uses a mash bill of 72% local rye that’s been uniquely grown by nearby Pedersen Family Farms for New York Distilling Company. It’s been aged for three years in 53 gallon American oak casks and is your classic spicy rye, with notes of cinnamon, tobacco and caramel. In 2019, this was joined by a Bottled in Bond version, which has a slightly higher rye content (75%) and has been aged for an extra year. It also has a stronger ABV, at 50%.

Ragtime Rye can be enjoyed neat, but it also complements a wide range of cocktails. Why not try it in a Manhattan or Old Fashioned?
