Rebel
Rebel Bourbon is a brand of American whiskey from Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown, Kentucky. Previously known as Rebel Yell until 2020, the history dates back to the mid-19th century, when the founders started using wheat instead of rye to produce a lighter profile. The Rebel Yell brand was introduced in the 1930s and initially distributed in small batches.
While popular in southern US states, Rebel Yell broke into popular culture in the 1980s, thanks to a song of the same name by Billy Idol. It was also known to be a favourite tipple of Keith Richards.
There are six bottles in the Rebel range, with the primary expression being the Straight Bourbon. This award-winning bourbon is still made with wheat and offers a smooth buttery body with an enticing spicy kick. As well as offering a 100 proof variation, and a Rebel Straight Rye, there’s also a fantastic tawny port finished release to try.
