The Ileach

The Ileach is a brand of secret single malt whisky from an unnamed distillery. Pronounced ‘Ee-luck’, the name means ‘Man of Islay’, which illustrates the region of Scotland this whisky showcases. The Ileach is owned by The Vintage Malt Whisky Company, a family-owned independent bottler.

Releases from this brand are classically Islay, with robust peaty and coastal notes. There’s a pleasingly oily mouthfeel, that gives way to a spicy and oaky finish. 

There are two core bottlings from The Ileach. The primary expression is the Peated Single Malt, a young and punchy Scotch with flavours of iodine, spice and oak. A cask strength edition is also available, which is bottled at 58% ABV and turns up the intensity.
