Wemyss Malts

Wemyss Malts is a unique independent bottler and blender of flavourful whisky. The family-owned company was founded in 2005 by William Wemyss, and his sister, Isabella, is responsible for sourcing Scotch whiskies for bottling and blending. 

The Wemyss’ background is actually in wine, but thanks to the support of Charles MacLean, they’ve been able to bring that knowledge to producing fine malts.

The brand sells blended whiskies and single cask expressions. Each of their blended releases are designed to be a different flavour profile, something that’s reflected in their names. The Hive, for instance, is named after its honeyed character, while Spice King has big hits of ginger and salt. Other popular releases include Peat Chimney. 

As well as whisky, Wemyss Malts also produces Darnley’s Gin.
