Golden Rum

Golden rum (also referred to as amber rum) is a medium-bodied and well-balanced spirit that offers a great halfway house for rum lovers.

Sitting between white and dark rums, both in colour and flavour, golden rum is a complex spirit that can come in a variety of styles. It develops its character through ageing, typically spending a moderate period of time in oak barrels before being bottled. This is what gives the rum its amber hue, and sweet and oaky flavour. 

Golden rum tends to have more depth than light rums, but is mellower than their dark or spiced counterparts. This makes it a more versatile spirit, that can be equally enjoyed neat or as a base for cocktails – such as a Mai Tai or Pina Colada.
