An exceptional single cask release from the revered Annandale Distillery, Man O’Swords Cask 1087 showcases the bold, smoky spirit of this Lowland producer at its most intense and complex. Distilled in 2017 and matured exclusively in a single first-fill Oloroso sherry butt, this heavily peated single malt has been bottled at natural cask strength, unchillfiltered and with no added colour.
Man O’Swords represents Annandale’s tribute to King Robert the Bruce, and this bottling delivers a commanding presence uniting brooding peat smoke with the depth and opulence of sherry cask influence.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Rich fruit cake and earthy peat rise first, followed by roasted pine, dark dried fruits and the nutty warmth of toasted almonds. A touch of burnt resin lingers beneath.

Palate

Viscous and commanding. Waves of dried fig and liquorice interlace with roasted hazelnut, freshly ground coffee, and sherry-soaked malt loaf. There’s a spiced, leathery undertone that speaks to the strength and maturity of the cask.

Finish

Long, warming and luxurious. Expect sticky dates, tobacco leaf, nutmeg, and smouldering oak embers, all wrapped in a layer of rich smoke and a touch of vanilla fudge.
