The Daftmill 2010 Summer Release is a testament to the understated yet exceptional craftsmanship of one of Scotland’s most charming and sought-after distilleries. Nestled in the heart of Fife, Daftmill Distillery is one of Scotland's newer single malt Scotch whisky producers, quietly gaining a reputation for its small-batch, high-quality whiskies. Built in a converted barn on Daftmill Farm, the distillery began production after being granted a license in 2005. Unlike many larger operations, Daftmill takes a refreshingly artisanal approach, producing whisky only during the farm’s off-season. With a maximum annual production capacity of just 20,000 litres of alcohol, Daftmill is truly a low-volume, farm-to-bottle distillery, making each release both rare and sought after.
Distilled in July 2010 and bottled in 2021, this expression was matured in 25 first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, which lends a classic elegance and depth to the whisky. With only 6,250 bottles available, this release is presented all natural colour, at 46%abv.
