Sherry Cask

Here we have a sherry-matured Japanese whisky from little-known producer, Matsui Shuzou. Although better recognised for their sake and shochu, the Kurayoshi brand whiskies are a welcome addition to the Tottori Prefecture-based distillery’s range. This expression blends Scotch and Japanese whisky, before being aged in oak barrels for three years and finished in ex-sherry casks. The result is a delicious dram of chocolate, ginger and sultana notes.
