Aberlour malt whisky is a medium-weight single malt, which gains in in toffee-like sweetness as it matures more, making ageing a key part of the production process. It has sufficient depth to benefit from the sherry cask maturation that gives it the signature Scotch malt whisky flavour we know and love so well. Fermented for 48 hours and boasting a warming balance of sweet and fruity flavours, this whisky is a wonderful example of Scotch at its finest and is one of the best value Speyside malts on the market.
The distillery that today produces the iconic Aberlour whisky was founded in 1879 by James Fleming, who built it using water from St. Drostan's Well, which was named after an early Columban monk. Prior to this, there was another distillery in the area between the years of 1825 and 1833, but this shouldn't be confused with the long-running whisky producers to whom we can attribute the fine whisky we know and love today.
The Aberlour distillery in Speyside provides a wealth of whiskies to choose from. With both ex-Sherry and ex-Bourbon cask whiskies, and different lengths of ageing, you can select the perfect product for you or for someone you're buying a gift for.
The most famous Aberlour whiskies are the long-running A'Bunadh, which has run since 2000, and the Aberlour Casg Annamh single malt whisky. These beverages exhibit truly unique blackcurrant flavour notes, along with the malt flavour that forms the base of the whisky. Whether you're looking for one of these, or for Aberlour 12, 14, 16 or double-cask whiskies, you can find your whisky of choice in the House of Malt range.
If you are a fan of trying something different, Aberlour single malt whisky is an ideal way to expand your Scotch collection, but you might also find our full Scotch whisky selection to be of interest. It includes blended Scotch whisky, grain Scotch whisky, and indie bottlings, plus brands such as Spey, Ballantine, and Glen Elgin. We also have a selection of Speyside whisky for those who enjoy the whisky output of this specific region.

Only had a taste to date, so perhaps not fair to comment, but don’t think it is worth the extra money over and above the 12 year.
…,,great value – bought my husband a bottle of this at Xmas and it went down a treat. Replaced the macallian 12 Sherry cask at the top of his list. This has since gone up to £100+ so when I saw these at this price I scooped up 2 bottles! Great speedy service from Hof M. Highly recommend.
