Nestled on Scotland’s remote and rugged west coast, Ardnamurchan Distillery is one of the country’s most progressive new whisky producers. Founded in 2014, the distillery is built on a foundation of sustainability, traceability and authenticity. It is powered entirely by local renewable energy sources, using hydroelectric and biomass systems that reflect its deep connection to the land. This cask strength release for 2025, is a bold and expressive bottling, crafted from a combination of peated and unpeated spirit, matured in carefully selected American oak and sherry casks. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.7%, without chill filtration or added colour, this release showcases the distillery’s house style at full intensity—rich, textured and unmistakably Highland.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Robust and layered, the nose opens with waves of briny sea spray, charred citrus peel and damp oak. Behind this, notes of honeycomb, baked apple and spice-soaked fruitcake emerge, underscored by a soft earthy smoke and coastal freshness.

Palate

Powerful yet well balanced, the palate delivers bursts of dark chocolate, salted caramel and red berries, followed by ginger, clove and toasted nuts. The high strength amplifies the complexity, with smoke and spice interwoven seamlessly through the sweet malt core.

Finish

Long, warming and intense, the finish leaves impressions of smouldering embers, dried fruit, cracked pepper and a subtle maritime salinity. A lingering richness remains, inviting slow appreciation.
