Located on the remote Ardnamurchan Peninsula on Scotland’s west coast, the distillery is as much a product of its environment as the whisky it produces—surrounded by rugged highland landscape, sea air, and pure spring water from nearby hills. Ardnamurchan is notable for its commitment to sustainability, powered by hydroelectric and biomass energy, and known for its transparency and traceability. For this latest release, Ardnamurchan have teamed up with Arne Wern aka 'doodlethedram' to design this beautiful label.
The Midgie Batch 2 is a carefully crafted marriage of peated and unpeated spirit, matured in a harmonious combination of bourbon barrels, port barriques, and a smidge of sherry casks. Bottled at natural colour, non-chill filtered, and 48%abv, it’s a whisky that speaks of both place and precision.

Tasting Notes

Nose

A sweet and smoky introduction, with aromas of charred citrus peel, ripe orchard fruits and berry compote. Hints of vanilla, toasted oak and coastal brine give depth, while a gentle spice and distant herbal lift complete the aromatic profile.

Palate

Full and textured on the palate, with juicy red fruit from the port casks balanced by creamy vanilla and honeyed malt. Waves of soft smoke roll through, intertwined with notes of clove, ginger and roasted nuts. A subtle maritime salinity lends structure and vibrancy.

Finish

Long and warming, with lingering berry sweetness, dry oak spice and a soft wisp of fading embers. The balance of cask influence lingers beautifully, leaving a trail of fruit and smoke.
