Cotswolds Dry Gin is made with juniper, coriander and angelica root, which is macerated in their pure wheat spirit for 24 hours. They then add a botanical selection including bay leaf, grapefruit, lime, black pepper, cardamom seed and Cotswolds lavender to their still for distillation. To bring it down to bottling strength of 46% ABV, they use naturally refined Cotswolds water.

Tasting Notes

Nose

fresh notes of grapefruit with earthy coriander backed-up by sweet, piney juniper.

Palate

clean, pine juniper spice with fresh citrussy grapefruit.

Finish

Juniper, citrus and some cooling notes from bay leaf and cardamom.

A Word About Cotswolds Distillery

The Cotswolds Distillery was built in the picturesque village of Staunton in 2013. It was founded by Dan Szor, an American expat whose love of single malt and the English rolling hills inspired him to launch his own whisky venture in this area of natural beauty. The distillery, which also produces gin and other spirits, has been well-received and already picked up a number of accolades.

The first bottling to leave the distillery was the Dry Gin, in 2014, with the Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky following just three years later. This flagship expression is sweet, creamy and fruity expression, aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-red wine casks. Since then, we’ve also seen sherry cask and peated cask editions.

This is a fantastic new distillery with great things expected.
