This 40-year-old 1979 vintage from Macallan's Fine & Rare collection is characterized by its nuanced flavours of soft peat smoke, oak spice, and warming ginger, having been aged in a single ex-Sherry puncheon and bottled at a cask strength of 57.2% ABV.

Jaume Ferras, Macallan's Prestige Marketing Director, remarked that this particular expression offers a glimpse into the enduring legacy of the brand, embodying the spirit of the era in which it was distilled—a time marked by global advancement and significant growth and evolution for their award-winning single malt.

The distillation year coincides with the appointment of Peter Shiach as the new chairman of the company, a figure whose impact is still recognized in the brand's identity today.
