Gin Mare

Gin Mare is a brand of gin from Spain’s Catalonia region. Based in Costa Daurada, a strip of Mediterranean coastline, the company was founded in 2010 and became a big hit during the craft gin boom of the time. It is now sold in more than 70 countries and is considered one of the largest premium gins in the world.

Despite its global popularity, Gin Mare is made in small batches using traditional methods. Distillation happens in a custom still, within a converted chapel at the Destilerías Miquel Guansé. Each batch takes around four hours to distill. Incorporating botanicals such as Arbequina olives, thyme and rosemary, this has an undeniable Mediterranean flavour and is perfect with tonic. 

The classic bottling is the Gin Mare Mediterranean Gin, but there’s also a limited edition offering in the form of the Gin Mare Capri. For this, they wanted to encapsulate the character of the nearby island, and so have added lemons and bergamots from Sorrento into their botanical mix – resulting in an even fresher take on their flagship expression.
