Highland Park

Based in Kirkwall on the island of Orkney, Highland Park is Scotland’s most northerly distillery – beating Scapa by just half a mile. It is well-renowned amongst whisky enthusiasts and is one of the most collectible brands on the market; commonly commanding some of the highest prices at auction.

The distillery was reputedly founded in 1798 by Magnus Eunson, a preacher and illicit distiller. It wasn’t until 1826, nearly 30 years later, that it received an official licence. The distillery’s stone buildings, twin pagodas, and 26 warehouses are notable features of the Kirkwall skyline.

Highland Park is known for its complex and peaty profile. Their whiskies exhibit notes of smoke, heather and honey, as well as hints of citrus and spice. They are typically matured in ex-sherry casks, although European and American oak casks may also be used.

From the flagship 12 Year Old to the premium 21 Year Old, you can explore the Highland Park range right here at House of Malt.
