Revered as the spiritual home of Scotch whisky, Lindores Abbey is where the first recorded distillation in Scotland took place in 1494, a commission by King James IV from the 'Aqua Vitae' that the monks were skilled in producing. This special release in the Casks of Lindores series is bottled at 49.4% ABV, emphasizing its robust profile. Aged exclusively in Sherry Butts, it is presented in its all-natural colour, free from chill-filtration to preserve the whisky's fullest flavour and richest mouthfeel.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Opens with a nose of rich dried fruits, prominently raisins and figs, which are beautifully accentuated by the deep, sweet aromas of sherry imparted by the Sherry Butt maturation.

Palate

Lush and robust, with the sherry influence shining brightly. Flavours of dark cherries and stewed plums meld with spicy notes of cinnamon and clove, enriched by an underlying sweetness of caramel and dark chocolate.
