The Wire Works Virgin Oak encapsulates the essence of our signature style. Crafted from lightly peated malted barley and infused with live brewer's yeast, this whisky benefits from extended fermentation, enriching it with profound fruity undertones. It begins its journey in top-quality, first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, acquiring a nuanced character, before undergoing a unique finishing process in new American oak barrels, carefully selected for their varying toast and char levels. This finishing at a milder ABV enhances the whisky's depth, marrying the robust, oak-driven flavours with the inherent sweetness and spice. This process accentuates the vibrant fruit notes and the refined smokiness that are hallmarks of our core spirit, resulting in a whisky that's both bold and elegantly balanced.
