Fonseca has long been at the forefront of organic viticulture in the Douro Valley. A pioneering move in 1992 saw the conversion of a portion of its flagship estate, Quinta do Panascal in the Távora Valley, to organic viticulture. Building on this commitment to sustainability, Fonseca's Quinta de Santo António in the Pinhão Valley is now entirely certified for organic production.

One of the noteworthy expressions resulting from this dedication to organic farming is Terra Prima Reserve, recognized as Terra Bella Reserve in the United States. This elegant reserve blend showcases the outcome of organic viticulture. It embodies a vibrant and fresh fruit character, where the traditional grape varieties of the Douro region are allowed to fully express their natural aromas.
